After a period of use, grey-black or reddish-brown stains may appear at the bottom of the kettle. This is not rust but limescale, caused by water quality or ingredients with minerals and iron. It can be removed using a special citric acid descaler (not included).
Do not dry boil. When cooking, add water and ingredients before plugging in.
